An Encounter with Magnificent Bighorn Sheep

Where do you go to see endangered Peninsular desert bighorn sheep? Anza-Borrego Desert State Park!
This park is one of the largest state parks in the US - Over 600,000 acres. Because of this protected land,
the sheep live here along the steep rocky cliffs

.Recently we hiked the 3 mile Palm Canyon Trail and along the way 5 bighorn sheep came off the cliffs to drink from the spring. Wow! We were inspired! When water is scarce, the sheep break open the Barrel
cactus for the water within.
Winter and Spring are the best times to hike here because the temperature soars to 120 in the Summer.
Whew!

We highly recommend a trip to this unique place!
